Carrageenan is used in the veggie gel caps, not in the oils. To ensure they can withstand heat and the roughness of transportation, all vegan gel caps on the market contain a small amount of carrageenan. If individuals prefer to avoid carrageenan in their vegan gel caps, they can simply bite into the gel cap to release the oil and discard the capsule. The oil is vegan and has a pleasant taste, unlike fish-based omega-3 oils. The carrageenan we use has passed all of our stringent testing standards.
